Colin was
born in Christchurch in 1958. His upbringing was a mixture of
city life and alpine village serenity, preferring to be at the
family batch in Arthur’s Pass whenever possible.
Now a happily married man with two teenage
children, the family share Colin’s passion for the outdoors,
and he mixes his family commitments with his love of painting.
Picking up his first brush at the age of 15
as a result of childhood illness and a paint by numbers set
bought by his mother to entertain, he soon found he had a
talent that went beyond the confines of a numbered canvas.
Colin writes - to me art is about seeing
something that only one can see and showing others through
practice and patience.
