I was born
in Japan and have resided in Waikuku, North Canterbury, New Zealand
since 2002.
I fell in love with glass while I
was travelling overseas and I started to learn to blow glass in
1997. Since then, I have always been fascinated by the material of
glass, including colour, transparency and movement while it is in
the molten temperature.
I have learnt, had experience, and
worked in blowing glass studios in Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
Then in 2003, I took a new direction, taking a workshop in Flame
work which enables me to make glass beads. I also set up my own
space at my Waikuku home with a big help from my significant other. |
